What is a Duolingo tree?

Duolingo tree is nothing but the path in which the course for different languages is designed. In this tree, you will get different units that help you to focus on a particular skill in the language. Each unit will include a lot of lessons which will have different exercises for you. Although the Duolingo tree was in the previous version, currently this tree has been converted into the new learning path. With the latest update, you will get the stories under the units themselves. The number of units you get on the platform is based on the language you are learning.

So suppose, if you are studying a French course, you will get a huge amount of content, whereas, if you study a fictional language like High Valyrian, you will get less number of units. If you are still on the old tree, you may want to know how to complete it faster and get a good hold of the language. Thus further we have discussed some of the ways by which you can complete the tree earlier.

What are some of the best ways to Finish the Duolingo tree?

As a regular user of Duolingo, I used several ways to complete it. Below are some of the ways by which I was able to finish the tree faster-

1. Earn 1 crown in a skill

When you follow up on the Duolingo tree, you will have different skills in the course. Each skill has a different number of crowns that you need to get. When you get at least a single crown in each skill, you will get to unlock your golden owl. The golden owl is the trophy, you get at the bottom of your Duolingo tree. It means you will not need to earn all the crowns in all the skills.

2. Earn the second crown in all the skills

The obvious next thing you must do is to earn the next crown in all the skills. When you earn the second crown, you will unlock a new achievement or a badge rather than a new golden owl trophy.

3. Getting the Golden tree

The last stage to complete the course is by looking for all the crowns in all the skills. The last crown of each skill is extremely difficult. Thus, you must try to complete them at last.

4. Trying the shortcuts

When you are on the Duolingo tree, you may find different shortcuts to complete them. There are five crowns in each skill. If you have not unlocked all five 5 crowns so far, you will see a little key icon in the corner. With the help of it, you can test it out. However, you will need to use your earned Duolingo gems. The other shortcut that you do is by going to the Checkpoints and testing different skills at a time. To take up this test you again need to use Duolingo gems for unlocking them.

Remember: As the tree is gone, there is no more crown system.

Generally, it will depend upon the course you are studying. Each course has several lessons and almost all the lessons are of smaller duration i.e 10-15 minutes. You can even take them offline if you want to. Can Duolingo bring back the old Duolingo tree?

Although there is no official statement, there are no plans to bring the previous Duolingo tree back onto the platform. It is because getting the current update on Duolingo took a long time. You also know which lesson to take first with the help of the new learning system. However, the fact that it is in A/B testing indicates that the team wishes to test this model further to determine whether it is suitable for users.

Update: The current version is out of A/B testing. It is available for every user on Duolingo.
